It's a baby girl for actors Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem—and they've named their daughter Luna Encinas. (She joins big brother Leonardo.)
Luna means moon, and has become a hot name ever since J.K. Rowling chose it for one of her most unique Harry Potter characters, Luna Lovegood, a bright but offbeat girl who often helped Harry in the battle against Voldemort. In fact, since the character appeared in the books, it's jumped way up on the charts, from near the bottom of the top 1000 in 2003, over 600 points to its spot at #223 in 2012.
It was also chosen as the nickname for Uma Thurman's multiple-monikered daughter, Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence.
Encinas is one of Javier's surnames, bringing a little bit of the family name into the mix.
I love Luna and Leonardo (aka Leo) as a sibling set!
